with a better chance of winning Are
there slot machines that pay off more than they take in?
Ones where you might have a better chance of winning a jackpot?
How do you find them? Most
slot machines pay off far less than they take in – some as little as 83 cents
per $1. But for marketing reasons,
some casinos do set the payoffs of a few machines to drop higher percentages,
e.g. 98 or 99%, back to the player; some actually drop more than 100% of the
handle. Tip 1: Play near high
traffic areas including entrances and exits to slot machine areas on the casino
floor. Many
casinos set the coins returned to the player (the “drop”) higher in areas
that players must pass by in going to and from the blackjack pits and to and
from restaurants, etc. This creates
excitement with the sounds and flashing lights of a machine paying off and is
meant to encourage players to play right now.
Tip
2: Ask a Change Person to recommend
a machine to play Ask
the change person to recommend a machine when tipping them for changing your
bills to coins. Because of their
continuous presence in the area and their observation of player jackpots, they
may have clues as to where these hot machines are located Tip
3: Whatever the machine, it’s
best to change if you’re not winning or close to even after 20 pulls. Over
the past 10 to 15 years, the casinos have replaced many table games and
installed additional slot machines. Of
course the reason is slot machines produce much more profit than table games
because of their high house odds. I
do not recommend the slot machines, but if you do play for fun, I suggest
playing video poker where the house odds are, in most cases, less than the
traditional slot machines. Tip
4: Play the video poker machines
that pay off on Jacks or better, offer a progressive jackpot of 4000 coins or
more when the Royal Flush hits, and pay 45 coins on a full house on a 5-coin
pull and 30 coins on a flush on a 5-coin pull (referred to in gambling
literature as 9/6 machines (45/30). Tip 5: Do a Google search on “video poker strategy” and acquire a strategy chart showing the best way to play your video poker hand, i.e. what cards to keep and what cards to throw away. Links to other Decisions Leading to Winning Sessions: q
